Well, us Pinterest freaks have all seen these and they are certainly all the buzz! I inherited a few stacks of old vintage books in the last year and there they’ve sat, on a shelf collecting dust and let me tell you, they are good for that! But what they’re also good for is what is known as “stamped books” decor and if you’re a farmhouse lover, you know what train I’m jumpin on here! So let’s get down to the DIY gritty.I took some regular old white craft paint from the paint section in Wal-Mart, painted each side of the books and let dry. They were quick to dry too which is a major plus with any project when you’re as impatient as I am. While they were drying, I created my font on Cricut Design Space and sent the Cricut cutting. Next, I weeded the letters out of the vinyl and placed the vinyl on the books where I wanted them to be once the books were dry. I took some black paint and a small brush and began filling in the stencil I had created. Once it was partially dry, I peeled the stencil off. I let the font dry, then took some sandpaper and lightly sanded on top of the font and anywhere else I desired a distressed look. Then I took some jute and wrapped it around the stack of books and tied into a bow. There are so many options you can play with to dress up this project. You could use jute or ribbon, add some flowers whatever you want! So precious and the quote is everything! I am so entirely pleased with this project. I hope you enjoyed it too!
